General Description - From this page, you may view players who have been placed on waivers by any of the franchises in the league, as well as your franchise's pending waiver claims. Please note that no moves may be made before the world is full and a schedule has been generated.

Type - Users may select whether to view position players or pitchers on the waiver wire.

View - After selecting the type of players to view, users may select the type of attributes of waived players to view. These include regular season stats, current ratings, projected ratings and status info. Season stats will display players' core statistics thus far this season. Current ratings will display the players' actual ratings and projected ratings are the levels of each rating category at which your advance scouting department projects the player to peak. This is directly related to the amount that you allocated for advance scouting. Status information displays historical information including Franchise (FRN), Position (POS), health (%), current Age, whether the player has been waived or released (Rel), Playing Status, years PRO, years in the ML, years with the big league team that waived the player (SAME TEAM), Options remaining, years he has been on the 40-Man Roster, seasons remaining on his contract (SIGNED THRU) and this year's Salary. Pending Claims - Pending claims always display the player's name, previous franchise, position, health (%), age, this year's salary and waiver date. The Waiver Date is the date the claim is evaluated (sometime shortly after midnight).

How Does It Work - Shortly after midnight on the second day after the player was waived/released, the player's waiver status will be evaluated. For instance, if a player is waived on Tuesday at 3:00 PM, his waiver status will be evaluated on Wednesday night at midnight (technically Thursday). Prior to the trade deadline, any player with a claim placed will be transferred to the claiming team with the lowest rank. After the trade deadline, the original team has the opportunity to pull the player back. In order to be awarded the claim for a player prior to the transaction deadline or after the deadline when a player is not set to be automatically pulled back, the franchise must be able to take on his remaining salary for the season as well as the remainder of the contract. Otherwise, the next franchise in the waiver rank will be eligible for the claim.

Franchise Rank - This indicates your waiver rank and is decided by 1 of 2 ways. Prior to the 28th regular season game of the season, the big league club's winning percentage from the previous season is used. If 28 games have been played, then the current season's winning percentage is used. The lower your number (i.e. closer to 1), the better chance you will have at successfully acquiring the player. For instance, if your team is 1/32 (worst winning percentage), you can expect to acquire the player you claim. If the world is in season 1 and it is before the 28th regular season game the franchise rank is the inverse of the amateur draft order.

Released Versus Waived - If a player has been waived and you are awarded the claim, then you are responsible for a prorated amount of his full salary for the current season and the full amount of all subsequent years under his current contract. If the player was released, then you are only responsible for a prorated amount of the league minimum for the current season and the league minimum for all subsequent seasons under his current contract.

$0 - If it's before the arbitration hearing cycles and a player is listed at $0, be careful. If he has between 3 and 5 years of big league experience, he's scheduled for an arbitration hearing and you'll be responsible for his contract.

Daily Remaining - Teams are limited to two waiver claims per day. The number listed is the amount of waiver claims you can make before the end of the day (midnight EST).

Season Remaining - Teams are limited to fifty waiver claims per season. The number listed is the amount of waiver claims you can make before the end of the season. Waiver claims can be made after the transaction deadline, but do not forget that playoff rosters must be set before the end of the year.

Action - To claim a player from the Waiver Wire list, please click on 'Claim' next to the player's attributes. He will be remain on the waiver wire list, but also appear under your Pending Claims list. If no one with a better waiver position makes a claim on the player before his waiver period is over, you will acquire the player and he will need to be assigned from the Edit Rosters page.

- This player is a Rule 5 pick this season and must remain on the team's big league squad or be offered back to his original team. If you claim this player, you will have 72 hours to put him on your ML team or he will automatically be put back through the Rule 5 Offer back process.
